We had just under 200mm of rain during January.
The moss on the greens is being treated by hand and is coming under control.
The chemicals to spray the clover has arrived however we have not been able to spray as yet due to the weather.
All of the new tee boxes have been opened except for the 12th hole, this tee box will be opened by the end of February.
A new forward tee on the 2nd hole has been built.
The reeds on the 13th hole has been taken out, the project to take the sand out has been put on hold due to costs.
The cleaning of the river is ongoing.
A number of big trees have fallen down in the past few months, the Captain will be looking at restroking some of the holes.
The tee levelling project has been put on hold.
The bunker project has been put on hold due to the excess rains, this project will be relooked at during Winter.
There has been numerous complaints about the long rough in the “out of play areas”, the rough on the right of the 1st hole, right of the 2nd hole, on the 9th hole and on the 14th hole has been cut. The rest of the long rough will remain in place.
MACHINERY AND PUMPHOUSE
We have had a few issues with the big rough cutter, the machine is currently being stripped to see what the problem is.
The filter system for the pumps is complete and an installer will arrive soon to fit it, due to there being no filter on the pumps, the sprinklers are getting blocked, this is an ongoing process until the filter has been installed.
The lightning struck our pump house on Monday and one of the VSD boards and motors has blown, an insurance claim will be lodged once the quotes arrive.
Mid Amateur League beat Country Club JHB 4.5-3.5.
