Introducing the WIGWEE Wednesdays series
From 1 March 2023 our Wednesday competition will be named “THE GLENVISTA COUNTRY CLUB, “WIGWEE {meaning “Greetings”} Series”. The format will be in the form of an IPS competition and good prizes will be awarded to the day winners on every occasion. The additional Wigwee series under the same format will be played concurrent over the next 30 Wednesdays.
The players competing over the 30 Wednesdays will be required to play a minimum of 18 rounds out of the 30 rounds to come in contention, and be crowned the Wednesday “Wigwee Series” IPS Champion. Only your best 18 scores will be taken in consideration and calculated. The idea is that you the player will play as many of the 30 events as possible, to have your best scores calculated The idea is that you the player will play as many of the 30 events as possible, to have your best scores calculated.
This is at no extra cost. The ultimate winner and runner-up will be receiving some great prizes and a floating trophy to become the “WIGWEE SERIES” champion by the end of November 2023. As a bonus to all competitors playing the minimum of 18 rounds, you will receive a Goodie bag to the value of around R1000.
On Friday 3 March 2023 our 9 hole “WOGGLERS” {Meaning “A person who likes to party”} competition will start. Meat hampers will be on offer to the top 3 winning players every Friday. Format will be changed from week to week and a lot of fun will be implemented in these competitions. Tee off times will be between 11am and 2pm. There will be an official prize giving after every Wednesday and Friday competition that will be conducted by the Captain Steve, vice-Captain Terence, Manager Shaun or Director of Golf Renier.
You are more than welcome to come and still play 18 holes, and still be able to enter into the 9 hole competition with the understanding that the competition 9 holes will be your first 9 holes to be played.
We are excited about our “Friday night Wanky {meaning “Weird, Crazy or strong”} Veranda” nearest to the pin shoot-out that will take place every second Friday also starting on 3 March 2023. The following one on Friday 17 March 2023 will be part of the Irish Saint Patrick Friday celebrations with some live music, dress-up competitions and party taking place.
